"Don Giovanni" - Amadeus Mozart's tragicomedy will be the next production presented as part of the series of broadcasts from The Metropolitan Opera. The new staging, which was prepared by Ivo van Hove, will be shown at the Światowid Cinema in Elbląg on 20 May at 18:55.
Don Giovanni is a tale of deceit and damnation, set in an abstract architectural landscape that reflects the dark side of history and its characters. It also marks the debut of conductor Nathalie Stutzmann at the Met. An all-star cast will be led by baritone Peter Mattei as the charismatic Don Giovanni. He will be partnered by bass-baritone Adam Plachetka as Leporello, as well as sopranos: Federica Lombardi, Ana María Martínez and Ying Fan, as Don Giovanni's amorous conquests Donna Anna, Donna Elvira and Zerlina. Tenor Ben Bliss will also be seen on stage in the role of Don Ottavio.
