Falstaff in Światowid Cinema

Falstaff is Verdi's comedy opera based on two of Shakespeare's works - The Merry Wives of Windsor and Henry IV. It will be broadcast from The Metropolitan Opera on 1 April at 6.30 pm.


Robert Carson's staging will feature an array of opera stars, with Michael Voll in the title role. This is this baritone's first appearance in a Verdi opera on the Met stage. The three clever women who torment Falstaff will be played by soprano Ailyn Pérez as Alice Ford, soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano as Meg Page and mezzo-soprano Marie-Nicole Lemieux as Mrs Quickly, while soprano Hera Hyesang Park and tenor Bogdan Volkov will be seen as the young couple, Nannetta and Fenton. The Met orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Daniele Rustioni.

  • at the box office of the "Światowid" European Meeting Centre. The box office is open from Monday to Friday from 2.30 pm to 8.30 pm (or 15 minutes before the first screening). On Saturdays and Sundays from 11.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
  • at the ticket machine located in the hall of the "Światowid" CSE (card payment) from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
