Screenings at the Światowid Cinema

We present to you the offer of the Światowid Cinema from 3 March.

"Little Nicholas - Happy as Can Be"

Another instalment of the adventures of the unruly boy, who this time takes the audience, among others, to the atelier of his creators René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé. Full of humour, warmth and life wisdom, the story is about the power of friendship, the power of imagination and how to find an inexhaustible source of joy in life. "Little Nicholas - Happy as Can Be" at Światowid Cinema from 3 March.

It all began many years ago in Paris when a little boy named Nicholas was born into a certain nice family. Not much is known about his early years, but the whole world heard about his school days! Together with a bunch of crazy friends, Nicholas has mastered to perfection the tricky art of driving not only his teachers but also his beloved parents, neighbours and even the shopkeepers crazy. Each of their adventures causes a tsunami at school or home, and an argument grows to the size of the Battle of Waterloo. But it is impossible not to love them because they turn everything they touch into joy and laughter. This is, of course, thanks to Nicholas himself, who has a flair for adventure and endless curiosity. It is this that one day prompts him to sneak into the atelier of his creators Rene Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempe, who tell him about their friendship, his childhood and how one day they invented him.

A unique animated story for the whole family. "Little Nicholas - Happy as Can Be" from 3 March at Światowid Cinema.

"Pokolenie Ikea"

A film that is an adaptation of one of the most famous and controversial books of recent years. A story about how young people live in the big city, about dating, sex but also love. "Pokolenie Ikea" at Światowid Cinema from 3 March.

Piotr Czarny is a charming thirty-something lawyer. He is constantly chasing adrenaline, women and parties. He has set himself the goal of filling a list of mistresses with names for every letter of the alphabet. His plan comes into question when his work colleague Olga - the only woman with whom he is completely honest and with whom he is not sleeping - gives him an ultimatum. Following the cynical and hedonistic protagonist, we enter a world of adventurous sex, speed dating and one-night romances served to us by internet apps. The film unabashedly portrays people whose easy access to possessions has taught them that everything can be cheaply and unreflectively replaced - a computer, furniture, a flat and even a relationship.

A bestseller brought to the big screen. A film with an exceptional cast. "Pokolenie Ikea" from 3 March at Światowid Cinema.

"Filip"

A film that has never been seen in Polish cinema before. Here the war is only a background, an addition to the plot. The wonderful Eryk Kulm Jr. is the eponymous Filip, a Jew of Polish origin who managed to escape from the Warsaw ghetto. A tale of loneliness, trauma and the search for love. "Filip" at Światowid Cinema from 3 March.

Frankfurt 1943. The title character Filip is a typical cosmopolitan and a seducer incapable of deeper feelings. He lost his entire family in Poland. Being in the heart of Nazi Germany, he hides his Jewish origins and repeatedly evades death. He works as a waiter in the restaurant of an exclusive hotel and blithely enjoys all the delights of life surrounded by luxury, beautiful women and friends from all over Europe. However, when the war begins to take its bloody toll on those closest to him, the intricately constructed world around him crumbles like a house of cards. Soon, Allied bombers will wipe out this vibrant tower of Babel.

A film based on Leopold Tyrmand's novel of the same name, in which the author drew on his experiences during the war and occupation. "'Filip" is available at Kino Światowid from 3 March.
