The festival is aimed at enthusiasts of the mother tongue. We are waiting for participants in two categories: reciters and poetry song performers.
A musical feast
What is good is supposed to last! That is why we invite you to take part in the 25th edition of the National Festival of the Art of Words "... czy to jest kochanie?"! What will make this year's festival special is Edyta Geppert's recital with the participation of Piotr Matuszczyk (piano) and Jerzy Szarecki (trumpet), according to the script and directed by Piotr Loretz, which will take place on the first day of the festival, and a concert of laureates combined with a concert by the exceptional artist Stanisława Celińska with her band under the artistic direction of Maciej Muraszko.
The festival - the first step towards a career
All lovers of recitation and poetic songs are invited to take part in this musical adventure.
I hope it will be an extremely inspiring lesson of searching, discovering and meeting with words - says Antoni Czyżyk, Director of the "Światowid" European Meeting Centre in Elbląg. The aim of our Festival is to discover and reward artists for whom an outstanding text and adequate music are important in the creation and presentation of works - adds Antoni Czyżyk.
Competition presentations of the XXV National Word Art Festival "... czy to jest kochanie?" in the recitation category will begin on Saturday, 18 March, at 10 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m., while from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., performers of a poetic song will present themselves (rehearsals from 1 p.m.).
Recitation is a type of artistic interpretation in which the word is a fundamental element.
Recitation is the art of the living word. This means that the main area of the reciter's interpretative search should be the work on the word, and only here lies the chance to enrich the interpretation, the organisers point out. Reciters seek interpretative means by concentrating on work on the word itself, on the technique of the word, on the instrument of speech, and on mastering and developing the means of artistic expression - they add.
Poetic song, on the other hand, has been attracting successive generations of listeners for many years. It is hard not to see the value of musical works in this genre. Excellent literary texts harmonise here with a harmonious melody that carries the words and emphasises the emotionality of the message - concludes the organisers.
